Advantages Of P Line CXX
When you consider its strength vs diameter, CXX may very well be the strongest copolymer on the market. That characteristic coupled with its extremely high resistance to abrasion makes it nearly impossible to break off using CXX. Fishing 15-pound test at the local saltwater lagoons, I’ve straightened out lead heads that got caught on the rocks.
Drawbacks Of Using CXX
By placing attention to strength and abrasion resistance, CXX does suffer in other areas. The largest detriment on the water is most likely the memory of the line. Most of the issues anglers report are while using spinning equipment. CXX will tend to keep its shape over time and the curls will lead to wind knots on spinning gear. Curls in the line due to higher memory will also shorten your casting distance.
Another complaint about CXX is that it is stiff which makes knot tying more difficult. It kinks easily if you pinch it, though the Palomar knot seems to perform best.
